Fade in to the 15th floor suite of the St. Regis Los Angeles Hotel & Spa in Los Angeles, CA. The luxury suite is...well...big as hell, and has everything a young wealthy bachelor could want for a night. The view of the Los Angeles hills at night is breath taking from the large windows, and the city lights below can make the most structured adult act like a child with ADDH in anticipation. The suite is painted a blinding white from the carpet to the ceiling. The furniture is of the same color and is of the finest quality and craftsmanship. Dinero walks out from the bedroom wearing a blue dress shirt, with no tie, black slacks, black suspenders, and tosses his black suit jacket onto the chaise lounge chair. He goes to the full size bar, makes a glass of scotch on the rocks, and takes a sip. The wrestling/business tycoon licks his lips and lets out a sigh of content. Dinero looks out the window for a few moments and takes a few more sips of scotch. After silently staring out into the distance for a few moments, he turns around, finishes his drink, and says...
"Nice place huh? Not the best, and I do have my own place out in Beverly Hills, but that's neither here nor there. Sometimes you just want to get away from the norm, and try something different. Sometimes it's good to be by yourself and just enjoy the silence. That's what I'm doing here. No women, no yes men, no media, no business...just...me. This is a time to reflect on the upcoming times. More specifically, the next two days. Two matches in two days, nothing new, but in one match I won't be by myself. I'll be tagging with someone who shows promise, and shows the ability to win; that's good enough for me. Not because I'm settling for just anything, no. I like my partner Anthony Shadows because he's been able to accomplish what I have also accomplished in Valor. What's that you ask? <Smirks> Shadows has also beaten Voodoo on Thunder. Granted, it's not a difficult task, but right now he's on par with me in that category, and that's it. Shadows still has a lot to prove, but he's already got one foot in the door. The rest is up to him."
Dinero jiggles the few ice cubes in the glass and looks back outside the window. While staring into the distance, he continues...
"Voodoo...I told you last week that you had a choice to make. It was time to choose what direction you were going to go in your life; empowerment, or self pity. When you attacked me after our match, I thought you were going to take the road of empowerment and do something about your miserable existence. Alas, I was wrong. You still continue to feel sorry for yourself and lament on your troubles. Thursday was your opportunity to rise up above the ashes and take charge. Instead, you bury yourself deeper in those ashes and suffocate yourself and your pride. It's sad really; heart wrenching. So much talent, squandered on such a miserable and useless soul. <Looks over his shoulder.> Who says God doesn't have a sense of humor? <Looks back out of window.> Voodoo, this is your second chance at redemption. Not many people get a second chance to change their course in life, and you're getting a second one in a week's time. I just have this gut feeling that you'll squander this chance like you did the first time."
Dinero puts the glass down at the bar and leans on the near wall. He folds his arms and gives that million dollar grin again.
"Maybe I'm wrong about you Voodoo. Maybe you will step up to the plate like Albert Pujols did Monday, and knock one out the park. You're not alone this time, so you don't have to do it by yourself. You've got a support system...a team of sorts. Ryan Young can now be that go ahead run on base while the crowd waits to see if you can be a hero, or the hobo. My game plan is to make you strike out swinging, and fall on your ass in the process. I know I'll succeed; I did last week. Ryan Young won't be able to help you in this one Voodoo. Your partner calls himself "The Hotshot." Good name, it fits him well. He's a shot in the dark that's going to fizzle out like a bottle rocket. He'll fire up, and burn out before he knows what happened or where he went. Before either of you know it, you'll both have a loss in your stats column."
Dinero stands up off the wall, loses the smile, and suddenly gets very serious.
"Tomorrow I show Voodoo and Young what the gold standard of wrestling is. I'm going to show them both that you don't get to the top with a flashy name and whining. No, you get here by hard work, and determination. You use your brains, your God given talent, and your desire to be the best. That's the gold standard. I surround myself with the best because that's what I am. I don't simply believe it, I know it. I expect a victory, not hope for one, and when I lose, i find a way to improve myself to make sre it doesn't happen again. That's the gold standard. Why not platinum? Because platinum looks too much like silver, and I'm not the man to be second guessed. I ooze success, and people see that in the way I carry myself. Shadows will get the opportunity to experience that first hand as a partner. Voodoo knows what it's like to be at the bottom because that's where he chooses to live. Young, this will be your first lesson in why everyone can't be at the top. If everyone was...there would be nothing to strive for. I am success personified, and my win on Thursday will be exhibit A."
Dinero smirks again and says...
"The gold standard gentlemen...it's just like it sounds...better than the norm."
Fade out as Dinero stands there with the same smirk on his face.
