Musicology - Shotglass Saturday RP#1[/u]
The scene opens up with Martin Paine looking directly into a video camera. And this isn't just a typical camera shot, I'm talking he's looking RIGHT into the camera, up his nose and everything. He quickly fixes his hair wipes his face as his pale skin is shown getting a close up. A blue shirt is visible, what it says on the shirt we don't know. He backs up a bit, and the camera stays put. That must make the illusion that someone else is holding the camera.
Martin Paine: Is it on?
Person w/Camera: Yes, its on.
Our question about if someone else was holding it just got solved.
Martin Paine: Good.
The camera fades. It re-opens on a sidewalk in downtown Toronto where we see the video camera recording Martin Paine walking down the street. Paine is wearing a black sports jacket, not phased by the cold weather in Canada. A bandanna is wrapped around his black dangling hair as his faded blue jeans drap over his white sneakers and scrape the sidewalk. Martin pushes a red-colored door with most of the paint scrapped off open. Jogging up the few flight of stairs, he enters the nicely furnished wooden room with black leather couches, tables full of buttons, giant speakers on the wall, and a recording booth right across. Sitting in one of the chairs is one of Toronto's finest underground rappers Chaos. Chaos and Paine slap hands and do a quick hug.
Chaos: Ayo whats goin' on man?
Martin Paine: Ah not, I'm just preparing myself mentally for Valor and also thinking of cutting some tracks down.
Chaos: Aight, aight. I was waitin' for you to come in, I thought you was comin' in earlier?
Martin Paine: I thought I was too, but I had some travel issues with Valor and stuff, wrestling business is one helluva drug that I love taking, but its also one big hassel. But hey, I'm here, and thats all that matters. So you ready to cut a few tracks?
Chaos: Lets get it.
Martin puts down his bag on the couch as the few men standing around him, including the camera man taping this with the video camera, watches Martin walk into the booth. He places the big headphones on his ears and stands in front of the mic. With his hands digging in his pockets, he pulls out a piece of paper with both sides filled up. Chaos slowly throws on a nice steady beat. We recognize this beat. Its the beat to Beanie Siegel's "The Truth" record, otherwise known as ROH's Homicide's theme song.
Martin Paine: Ah this is the good stuff right here, Kay. Okay here it comes...
Its the M-A-to the R-T-to the-I-N
I'm the Canadian Kingpen
Doin' big business, wrestling wise
I have all these bookers hypnotized
I'm ready to... I'm ready to...
Martin blinks hard, wipes his face, and stops speaking. Chaos slowly pulls down the beat and presses a button.
Chaos: Ayo what happened? You aight in there man?
Martin Paine: Yeah I'm fine, I'm fine. Lets get back to this, throw it back on.
Chaos looks at the camera behind him, shakes his head, and then focuses back on Martin. He throws up the beat one more time and Martin is ready again... or so it seems.
Martin Paine:
Its the M-A-to the R-T-to the-I-N
I'm the Canadian Kingpen
Doin' big business, wrestling wise
I have all these bookers hypnotized
I'm ready to let loose
I'm ready to be free
Canadian white rapper, just tryin' to be me
I ain't lettin' no one step on my shoes
I got all these chump wrestlers trynna gimme the blues
I hate to... I hate to...
Again, Martin stops and throws his head back, dropping the paper. Chaos shakes his head, starting to get mad and throws down the beat again.
Chaos: Ayo Martin, I'm tellin' askin' again, is something the matter?
Martin Paine: Nah, its just things are getting to me man. The pressure. The pressure of being a champ in Valor. And I got two dudes by the name of Seth Xavier and Havok breathing down my necks to take my title at Shotglass Saturday tomorrow, man this is crazy. So if my rhymes don't seem all too perfect like they normally are, you know why.
Chaos: You know I ain't a wrestler, but I do follow it and I follow you. I know ya good, and those chumps you worryin' about ain't nothin'. All they are are haters on ya back, and all you need to do is stay focused and ya title ain't goin' anywhere, for real.
Martin Paine: Thanks man, I might take that analogy into consideration. Consider it done. Lets try it one more time.
For the third time Chaos throws up the beat. Martin bends down and picks up the paper he dropped. He looks into it and begins to speak up to the mic.

I got all these chump wrestlers trynna gimme the blues
I hate to leave Seth Xavier in the dust but its just a bust
The boy thought he was hot and tried to clutch
On to a shot, at my belt
But I'm gonna him wrong and that I don't need the help
[To retain that is] And as for you Havok, man its a diff. story
I've been havin' issues with you back and forth so many times you'd figure we' be on Maury
Now at the PPV, someone's gonna get the smackdown
The Paine-a-nizer about to lay it all down
Throw down, fight to the finish
I'mma finish both Xavier and Havok like I finish my bottle of McGuinness.
The beat stops and Chaos and everyone begins to clap as Martin throws down the headphones and soaks in the claps. The video camera stops filming shortly after.
OOC -- I know its nothing special, but I wanted to give a different idea for a RP instead of the usual. Feedback as the norm peoples.
