We come into focus over a mediocre busy street. About every minute or so we can see a car drive by. The sun is being hidden from dark grayish clouds. The cars have their headlights on as the rain pours down on the street. We then look and there is a man sitting on one of the corners. He is sitting there in blue jeans and a black tank top. We come closer to the man and can see a blurred image of the man. The man happens to be VWA superstar Voodoo. He is sitting there looking up at the sky as the rain falls down off his face. His long black hair is slicked back because it is soaking rain. He then looks straight ahead and looks across the street to see two kids jumping in a puddle. He then sees a kid on his father’s shoulders as both are under an umbrella and walking down the street. He then begins to speak.
Voodoo: I had my chance. I had my chance to shine in the spotlight. I had a chance to make a name for myself. I had a chance to prove myself among the greatest performers of all time. I had the chance to defeat a man that would’ve boosted my rankings here in Valor. The only problem with me is a choke. When I stand in the middle of the ring starring my opponent in the eye. I feel nothing except confidence. That is until the millions and millions of redneck fans of Valor decide to begin a chant for my opponent. Then I realize they have complete faith in my opponent to shut my mouth. Well last Thursday on Thunder my opponent, Dinero, was able to accomplish that. He was able to knock me down and keep me down for 3 seconds and pull off one hell of a match.
Voodoo runs his hands through his hair. We see his fingertips flip through his hair as he reaches the back of his head. He then gets a tight grip on his hair and pulls some of his hair out. He throws it down onto the watery street. He glances at the hair floating down a small stream of rain on the road. He sees the hair flow into the sewer and then begins to speak.
Voodoo: That was supposed to be my time. That was supposed to be the I proved myself to the owners of Valor. Instead, because of all the fans of Valor, I fell once again flat on my face and blew my shot. I got in the ring pumped up for one hell of a match, and once you began the chants for my opponent I broke down. Why would you cheer this guy over me? Is it because he has the money to buy off his fans? Is it because how he dresses each and every day? Is it because he is Mr. Moneyman Dinero? Come on all that is a load of crap. Okay maybe you are right, maybe I don’t have the money to just flash around to people. Maybe I don’t have money to buy fancy pyros for my entrances. There is one thing I have that Dinero does not, and that is skill.
Voodoo lays his hand in a puddle of water that is in front of him. He splashes his hand through the water. He gets a hand full of water and clinches his fist. He watches as the water slides through his wet fingertips. He then throws a big ball of water on the ground that was resting in his fist. He then begins speaking staring at his reflection in the puddle of water.
Voodoo: When I look in the mirror or a reflection I see a winner. Except by my records here in Valor it shows me as otherwise. I know I haven’t won a lot of matches but all that is going to change this Thursday. I am going to be fighting side by side with the newbie Ryan Young. This man likes to talk a lot but the point of the matter is this. What he says he will do, that is what he does. This man said he was going to be Pohatu in his first match in Valor and that is what he did. I for one feel good to have someone with such greatness to be backing me up. Unlike whom Anthony Shadows has watching his back. Anthony you are on a team with a man that didn’t get where he is today by his skills. You are on the team with a man that is where he is today because of his money.
Voodoo then stands up and walks over to the building behind him. He leans up against the building by his right hand holding up his body weight. He then rubs his rugged chin. He then looks up at the camera and begins to speak.
Voodoo: At first I look back at our match, Dinero, that we had last Thursday on Thunder. I thought you beat me fair and square but the more I think about it. The referee seemed to count a lot faster than normal. Which brings me to believe you used your money once again to pull yourself out of a tight bind. What I mean by this is. You paid the referee to give you the win in the match. Well this issue of Thunder is going to be different. No matter how much money you offer, it isn’t going to be able to save you from the ass whooping Ryan Young and I are going to give you. At this point in my career it isn’t only about winning, it is about showing everyone the pain I have felt since day one.
Voodoo walks back over to the corner and leans on the streetlight that is stuck in the sidewalk people are walking on. His back is laying up against the poll. He then begins to speak again.
Voodoo: Anthony Shadows…I don’t want you to think I forgot about you. You are the man that scored the biggest upset of your short career here in Valor. You were able to pull off the win against a man of total greatness. You were able to impress the whole locker room and the fans with a win over this person. The person I am speaking of is…ME! Voodoo! You see I am going to completely zone the fans cheering out and whip your ass. No matter what the fans yell at me, no matter what they say to Ryan, no matter how long they cheer your name, the fact of the matter is at the end of Thursday, Ryan Young and Voodoo are going to go down in the record books as beating Dinero and Shadows. You see I don’t have to worry about my partner, I know he has my back. The only thing that I am aware of is, Dinero you have to watch your back with your partner. Ryan Young has only fought one match and isn’t a big head yet. You on the other hand are on a team with a man that is about equal in winnings and losses. You are on the team with a man that wants to make a name of himself at anyone’s expense. Remember that! The only thing left for me to say is, bad luck this Thursday on Thunder.
Voodoo then rises off of the poll. At that time a car turns the corner and nails the puddle of water. The water splashes through the air and lands all over Voodoo. The water was full of mud and now it is running down all over Voodoo’s face. Voodoo then walks away but yells.
Voodoo: What is it? Am I cursed or what!
Voodoo then wipes his face off and begins to throw the mud off of him. He walks down the mediocre busy street. He makes a turn at the end of the next block and turns to the right. The camera comes out of focus looking over the spot, under the streetlight,t that Voodoo was once standing at. We cut to commercial.
