<The scene opens inside an Amtrak luxury suite. The lavish area is decorated with modern art, a twin size bed, leather couch and even a private bathroom. Seated on the black leather couch, dressed in a light tan Armani suit and a white Versace button down, is "The Show" Eric Hardcastle. In his hands is a copy of the Holy Bible. Eric finishes reading a passage and then closes The Good Book. He places the Bible on the end table next to him. He draws the curtain back a slight bit and looks out at the passing scenery.>
Eric Hardcastle: Truly beautiful, isn't it? The rich Illinois country land. Blue skies and green grass. A shame. In a few short minutes, we will be arriving to Chi-town .....Chicago. And all the country land will turn into busy city streets. The blue skies covered in grey polluted smog. No green grass either. Just paved highway for miles on miles.
<Hardcastle lets the curtain fall back and turns towards the camera.>
Eric Hardcastle: Here I am Brandon Bailey. Figured, I would accept your invitation for the train ride to Chicago and come visit the house of Bailey. But this isn't just any train ride. I saw the filth you were traveling in. Such the simple man. Chewing gum stuck to the floor and homeless people scattered around. Not my cup of tea. But to each their own. "He Who Sits In The Heavens Shall Laugh." Psalm chapter 2, verse 4.
<Eric takes a moment to laugh and then pauses a moment. He begins to scratch his chin.>
Eric Hardcastle: So I guess, you're right. Polar Opposites. You and I.....polar opposites. You went through an impressive list of point, counter point. But you forgot one important one......Maverick and Iceman. You couldn't sum us up any better, really. By the way, Brandon..............I'M MAVERICK!!!
<Hardcastle flashes his trademarked grin.>
Eric Hardcastle: And I'm the top gun, here at Valor. Brandon Bailey, it seems as though you and so many others like to go on and on about destiny. What do you really know about destiny? You talk about your destiny being that World Heavyweight Championship. It is in your moments of decision that your destiny is shaped. It is in this moment. This very moment that I prove to you why your destiny is nothing more than a hope and a prayer. You think that destiny is predetermined. You think that there is this greater plan ahead. Well, I'm here to tell ya; it's choice, not chance, that determines your destiny. So get all those preconceived notions out of your head. If you don't make things happen....things will happen to you. So this Sunday, I plan to make things happen. I plan on taking you to the limit and putting myself one step closer to the one title that has eluded me my entire career. Unfortunately for you Brandon, what I make happen this Sunday will be what happens to you.
<Eric reaches over to the end table and takes a sip of wine from his glass. He places the wine glass down, carefully, on top of the coaster.>
Eric Hardcastle: Truthfully, I don't know what is going to happen this Sunday. This is a match of mega stardom and mega importance. To be honest with ya, I am glad I don't know my destiny. I think it would make life a little boring. All I know is that this Sunday, I am headed for Oklahoma City, Oklahoma with one purpose in mind. One single idea. It has nothing to do with The Sin City Saint. It has nothing to do with Gage Creed. And it has nothing to do with any other superstar on Valor's roster, except you. This Sunday, my single goal is to take the next step in becoming the World Heavyweight Champion. There will be no tape on the ribs, Brandon. They will be 100% for this Sunday, don't you worry. And win, lose or draw, I know that whatever happens, I will leave it all in the ring. Every ounce of my being will be left in that ring this Sunday.
<Eric takes a moment and pauses. He smiles.>
Eric Hardcastle: I hear The Myriad is sold out. They had to turn people away. The last time you and I met, we damn near tore the roof off the place. The last time we met, it was "The Show" that emerged victorious. But that's history, Brandon.
<Eric pauses for a moment and thinks to himself.>
Eric Hardcastle: Ya know, there's just one funny thing about history.......it has a tendency to repeat itself.
<The Amtrak train pulls to a stop, as a knock comes at the door. Eric reaches down and finishes his glass of wine. He stands up and grabs his bag and heads for the cabin door. He presses a button to the right of the door, and the door slides open. Eric is in the first cabin, and thus is first off the train. He steps out into the hall way and turns to his right. He begins to walk towards the exiting area.>
Eric Hardcastle: In case you're wondering, Brandon. I said I was coming to Chicago to visit the house of Bailey. But its not the house of Brandon Bailey. It's...............
<The stewardness smiles at Eric, as the exit door slides open and Eric steps off the train. Standing there waiting for him is Brittney Bailey. She is dressed in a pair of white pants with a pink v neck top. She smiles and walks towards Hardcastle. When she reaches him, she wraps her arms around him, tightly. Hardcastle wraps his arms around Brittney and smiles. The camera zooms in on Eric's face.>
Eric Hardcastle: ..........Brittney!
<Eric pulls back on the hug slightly. He looks down at Brittney and their eyes meet. Eric and Brittney lean in close for a passionate kiss. Eric reaches up and covers the camera lens with the palm of his hand. The camera shakes for a moment, as the screen fades out to black.>
