We come into focus over an old city park in the middle of San Jose. We look and see rust on all the equipment that is placed on the property. The curly slide is a rust bucket and has a couple of the stairs a missing that you climb on to get to the top of the slide. Then we look at the park benches and notice there are holes in the tables from the weather and termites from all season long. We then look at the water park that hasn’t been ran for a couple of years and all the equipment has rust on it considering the water never got wiped off after each use. To sum it up all the equipment is useless and we see a man (VWA Superstar…Voodoo) walking toward us from the road. He walks down the small hill and walks up to us. He stops and points towards us and we begin to back up as he begins to walk faster towards us. He meets up with us but passes right toward us with his finger still pointing. He then walks up to the curly slide and wraps his hand around the hand rail that you use to climb up. He swings around it and looks at us and motions for us to go over there to him. We walk close enough to hear him talk but not closer than that. He then looks up to the top of the slide and back down and then looks directly at us and begins to talk.
Voodoo: Time has finally come. It is time for us kids to become men. No more running to the arcade after school. No more wasting our money on nonsense stuff. No more running home to mom after you get beat up at the park. No more hanging out with friends just for fun. This is the time for us to grow up and be men like our families planned us to become. When you get beat up, you don’t run to mom. You walk it off and go home and clean yourself up and suck it up and move on.
Voodoo lets go of the hand rail of the slide and walks over to the child swings. He then begins to push the swing back in forth just like if a child was in it. He then looks towards the street and sees cars driving by. He then looks back at us and continues to push the swing. He begins to speak again.
Voodoo: This is the place I wasted all my childhood years at. I used to come here looking for fights with poor innocent kids that stood no chance. Growing up I was an asshole and I loved every minute of it. Hell I still love beating people up just for the joy of it. One day I beat up on a kid and he went home crying to his mother. His mother came down to the park raising hell at me. Telling me to stay away from her son and shit like that. One thing she said to me really caught my ear and I have yet to forget it. The old hag told me one day I would get my own ass whooping. At the time I laughed in her face and shrugged it off. I went on bullying kids around and never thought twice about it. Until one day I beat the hell out of this one kid and he went home and came back with his older brother. His older brother was about 17 years old and had muscles the size that I have now. That kid beat the hell out of me from one side of this park to the other. I went home not crying but I went home angry.
Voodoo then throws the swing as hard as possible and causing the swing to flip around the bar above a couple of times. He then walks over to the shelter where all the broken picnic tables are placed. He then finds a table that is able to hold his body weight and takes a seat on the broken table. He then lays his elbows on his knees and rests his head in his hands. He is looking down at the ground and begins to talk.
Voodoo: When I went home that night to the empty house. My parents worked 3rd shift so I was home alone a lot. I didn’t get on the phone and call my mom and cry to her. No I went to the bathroom. Damped a towel and cleaned up my bloody face. Then placed bandages on my face to stop the bleeding. I went into my garage where my work-out bench was and started lifting weights. I wasn’t pissed off I got my ass beat. I was pissed because that old hag proved me wrong. She was right; I was going to get my ass beat. So I trained and got bigger to make sure that never happened again. I went into the army for about 2 years and then when I left there I then joined the wrestling academy and got many different opportunities in these huge federations. I realized I would never be noticed in those federations so I decided to join the federation that was just starting VWA. I realized with my abilities I would be able to run all over Valor, but when I got here I was way wrong. I haven’t exactly had the greatest winning streak ever.
Voodoo then looks up and has red marks on his face from the pressure he was pushing from his head into his hands. He then stands up and walks over to the playground area for the kids. He then reaches down and picks up some woodchips and then throws them back down and continues talking.
Voodoo: Come Thursday Night Thunder I have the opportunity to get my revenge. I woke up from the peaceful dream I was having and realized life isn’t giving to you on a silver platter. If you want to get something you don’t wait patiently in line for your turn. You take what you feel you deserve. That is what I plan on doing this Thursday against Dinero. I have been watching VWA tapes and have watched my matches. I have studied what I have been screwing up on and I plan on fixing my mistakes. It seems like every time I make one my opponent is smart enough to capitalize on it. So I have to look back and realize and think about not doing that many mistakes. If I don’t make mistakes no one will be able to beat me not even the great Dinero. I have been studying his matches since I was informed he would be my opponent on Thunder. I have realized he is successful not because of his ability in the ring. He is successful because of his brains in the ring. He waits for his opponent to screw up and make a mistake. Then he capitalizes and pulls off the win. If I don’t stop making mistakes then my future will be no different then his other opponents. I have to go above and beyond this obstacle. I plan on becoming the world champion one day and with this win under my belt. It will help me achieve my goal.
Voodoo then walks past the shelter he was once sitting at and stands next to a charcoal grill that was set up for the residents to use while at the park. He then opens the lid on the grill and sees ashes from the charcoal that was burnt a while back. He then picks some of the ashes up and watches it as it runs through his fingers back into the grill. He then begins to talk again.
Voodoo: The only way for me to get to the top is to burn my competition to ashes. Dinero you are my first competitor that I am going to take serious. I have watched your abilities in the ring and I know you plan on bringing you’re a-game. We haven’t had a lot of history in the past. Actually this is the only time you and I have been in a match against each other. I plan on leading the series 1-0 after Thunder. So you better be prepared for our match or you are going to look like these ashes. I am going to burn you to ashes with my shocking win at Thunder.
Voodoo then slams the grill lid down and walks away. He then walks down the walkway of the park. He then walks through the parking lot and up to the main street that passes by the park. He sticks up his thumb and gets picked up by a blue dodge ram and rides away with the truck. We cut to commercial.
OOC: I know this isnt my best work but I think it came off ok, I will prolly do another rp, not garanteed though, good luck to Dinero. Feeback would be appreciated.
