[Fade In]
[Nothing but gray clouds in the sky and somber moment in the air. For they have buried one of the greatest superstars to ever grace the squared circle. He has been laid to rest, forever gone. Gone, but not forgotten. His headstone is adorned with flowers, ranging from roses to lillys. A man wearing a black trench coat stands over the grave, saying goodbye. The man turns and its is Shane Quickenbosh. Quickenbosh begins walking through the cemetery. A slight tear in his eye, Shane slips on a pair of sunglasses to hide his true emotion.]
Quickenbosh:
It's hard to believe that he is gone. It's so hard to believe that a man who had so much spirit and life in him, could just be taken from us so soon. And now that he is laid to rest, we.....his fellow brothers will honor his memory this Sunday. At the first ever "Eric Hardcastle Memorial Show", myself and a host of others will put differences aside. We will put hatred and ill will aside for one common reason....to honor and celebrate what we have lost. Anytime a fellow brother passes on, its very tough for the entire wrestling community. It's a comradery. Something we all share together and respect.
[Quickenbosh reaches down and picks up a stone, along the gravel trail. He tosses the stone through the air and out into the field.]
Quickenbosh:
We are but a stone's throw away from Sunday Night Slam.......from The Memorial Event. And I have the great honor of stepping into the ring with Pryme. Pryme, I have had my eye on you since you first entered Valor. I have seen you in action and you come off, quite impressive. I went to President Lynch, when I first heard about this show, and asked that I have a chance to wrestle on it. Not only perform, but to perform against a man, who I hold a lot of respect for. I wanted an opponent who had the same desire as I do. The same desire to go out into that ring and put on a performance, so great that the heaven's would write about us. A performance so great, that fans would stand and cheer so loud, our fallen brother could hear from that angelic ring in the sky. I will get that opportunity, Pryme. This Sunday, I get that opportunity.
[Shane begins to arrive at the spot he parked his car at. He looks into the sky, scratching his eye underneath his sunglasses.]
Quickenbosh:
Pryme, don't take this match lightly. I'm not. I might respect you. And I might wish you the best of luck. But I can tell you right now, I plan on coming out of Sunday Night Slam a winner. I plan on honoring the memory of our fallen brother, first and foremost. And the best way to do that.........put on a five star match and make sure that when the bell sounds, its Shane Quickenbosh who is announced the winner. Pryme, I look forward to this Sunday.
[Shane opens the door to his car and begins to get in. He stops for a moment and turns back.]
Quickenbosh:
One last thing. Brandon Bailey.....Assassin, I haven't forgotten about you. I haven't forgotten about how I came within an eyelash of becoming the new Valor World Champion. Last Sunday, was a milestone in my career. My first attempt at wrestling away the top prize in Valor. But it won't be the last. You and I will meet again down the road, Brandon. But right now, I have other, more important business to attend to. So don't think that Shane Quickenbosh has forgotten. Shane Quickenbosh never forgets.
[Shane closes the door behind him, as he engages the ignition. He pulls away from the cemetery and begins to drive home, keeping his feelings tucked away inside.]
