[My Gutcheck – RP#1][/u]
We focus in on the picture of a medium sized silver building. The word’s “Gauntlet Gym” in giant red letters can be seen attached to the top part of the building. We can hear the stamp of what sounds like a wrestling ring as we get closer and closer to the building. The camera enters the building to find the inside of the building looking similar to WWE’S “Traxx” Training Gym, as seen on WWE Tough Enough. The inside is gray all around with silver lines running threw the top. Small windows are placed at the very top of the walls to show the outside. There are four doors on one side of the room, with one extra one in the back. Chairs and tables are placed around the ring, presuming that this building is used to do wrestling shows for Indy Feds. Seeing as its placed in Canada, it might be used for shows such as BCW. A big wrestling ring is seen smack-dab in the middle of the ring. There’s a man running back and forth in a gray sweat shirt and some black track pants. The man has a hoody over his head, so no one can see his face. Mid-way of running in the ring, he stops dead in his tracks.
Voice: That was great Martin!
That comes from a voice far apart from the ring. It’s a man in a business suit with a briefcase in his hand. His hair is greased back and he sports a fine gray looking suit. He walks over to the ring and holds the ropes. The man drops out of the ring and removed the hoody. Its none other than Rodney Paine’s brother, the one and only “extremist”, Martin Paine. Paine takes off his sweaty sweater and throws it on the ring apron. He’s bare-chested as he grabs a towel from the chair and wipes himself with it. The man sits down behind a table and plops the briefcase on it. From the look of things, its Martin’s Lawyer, Kelly Thompson.
Kelly Thompson: Okay Martin, here’s the deal. I spent all last night doing you a favor by calling up Valor’s headquarters and finding out when your signing paper’s are coming in, and low and behold, I got them an hour ago. I knew you’d be thrilled to get them.
Martin Paine: So that’s it? I’m in Valor once I sign?
Kelly Thompson: Not quite. Steven Lynch doesn’t like your brother, Rodney, after the stints he’s pulled in Valor. Like Showing up whenever he feels like it, and not abiding by the rules. Now Lynch likes your work and thinks you’ll make an excellent addition to the brand new Junior Heavyweight Division that’s aboot to brew up in Valor. Now its on a strict basis that you show up on time and not miss a show.
Martin Paine: Look Kelly, I already know the deal with Rodney and VWA. I’m trying to follow in Rodney’s footsteps. I know the deal. I might not have lasted long in WXW because of my passion to stop wrestling, but I’m back now and I wanna do what I was trained and loved doing for so many years. Entertain the fans and wrestle my balls off. And its going to happen one way or another. So how do I get into Valor? Threw the Young Lion’s Cup I’m presuming?
Kelly Thompson: Yes, your correct. Steven has said to me that if you abide by the rules and commit yourself to the 2005 Young Lion’s Cup, and do not miss a show, you will be offered a huge 1 Year Valor Contract. This is your chance, Martin. I’m not pressuring you into signing with the fed, but this is your break out moment. I know your just getting started in UHW as well, but Valor is huge, and they have some of the best Junior Heavyweights and extreme wrestlers on the market today, bar TNA, ROH, and CZW ha-ha. But seriously, this is the big break you’ve wanted. National TV Deal, all that and a bag of chips. Your set in stone if you sign this contract to be apart of the YLC.
Martin Paine: You know what Kelly? For years I’ve always been the follower of my older-bro Rodney, and I’ve ended up joining all the feds he does. But now its over with. This is one fed that Rodney probably won’t be back in, and I’m taking advantage of it. Rodney has ELITE, RMW, and WRF. Lloyd has WXW. Oshane has BCW and ROH. But now Martin Paine is making a name for himself and getting out of his brother’s shadows. Kelly, I want the papers, because I’m gonna be signing with Valor’s YLC Tournament, and I will win.
Kelly smiles as he pops open the briefcase. He pulls out a small stack of papers as he places them on the table. He pops a pen from his jacket pocket and hands it to Martin. Martin flips threw it and finally decides to sign the few sheets of papers. He throws the pen down and smirks.
Martin Paine: The biggest signing Valor has ever seen. I may not be an official superstar yet, but once I win the Young Lion’s Cup, its only a matter of time before I’m facing off with Brandon Bailey for his World Title.
Kelly Thompson: Whoa, whoa, whoa. You still have to win the tourney first. Your first opponent is scheduled to be against Shane Quickbosh. His files say he’s one of the most charismatic guys on the Valor roster, and has gotten over pretty fast with the casual fan and most of the internet. The guy is good, Martin. I know if I were you I’d bring my best A Game.
Martin Paine: Shane, I think I know who this guy is. I saw tapes of him on the road from his stuff in Valor. I liked his feud with Will Dinero. Shame I ain’t Dinero. Heh, its funny. A lot of guys consider Valor to be home of the Junior Heavyweight’s, equivalent to WWE’s Cruiserweight’s and TNA’s X Division. I wanna be in Valor, and it’ll mean a shitload to me if I got in, and I’ll prove it. If Steven Lynch wants to see why I deserve to be in this company, well its time for me to show him why Martin Paine is the “The extremist” of the Paine Family. Shane Quickenbosh is an example come the YLC start, and as I advance, I’ll only be an inch closer from winning the whole shin-dig, and end up getting what I’ve wanted for weeks now – a contract with this place. My gutcheck is here, Kelly, and I’m taking it by the horns and riding it to the top of the Valor Mountain.
Kelly is impressed with Martin’s words. Martin throws the towel around his neck down on the mat, and puts his sweater back on. He climbs into the ring and begins to spar by himself as Kelly puts the papers back into the briefcase and closes up. The camera fades away as we see Martin continuing his running around the ring.
OOC - Yeah its nothing special, but just wanted to let you guys know I wasn't flaking.
