[Fade In]
[It is a bitterly cold day in Atlantic City, NJ. Earlier today, it rained and no sunshine was able to penetrate the dark clouds. Standing outside Boardwalk Hall is Shane Quickenbosh. He stares over the rail to the beach, watching and listening the waves crash into one another. Only a few passerbys walk by, as the cold weather has kept them away.]
Quickenbosh:
I'm all checked in. Bags are unpacked and my gear is hung up. This is certainly the worst time to be at the beach. But for me and the other eight men remaining in YLC, its the best time. The best time is now. But after tomorrow night, only four of us will continue with that feeling.
[Shane walks over to a bench that sits right against the beach and takes a seat.]
Quickenbosh:
Being a Junior Heavyweight doesn't automatically make you a high flying, risk taker. Take for instance my old enemy or maybe I should say, new enemy, Will Dinero. Dinero is about as fine a technician, as they come. Will he take to the air? Absolutely. But he would much rather work from the ground up. Make his opponent wrestle his game. Then you have a guy like Havok. Havok, well he's pretty reckless. He'll do whatever it takes to make sure he walks out the victor. Ground game, submission, high flying.....it doesn't really matter. And then you come to guy like me. I don't think I would classify myself really in any category. I am certainly not as skilled a technician like Dinero. I'm not as reckless as Havok. I don't think I'm really the best at any one type of skill. I think I'm just really good at a lot of different things and thats what makes me one of the top Junior Heavyweights.
[Shane feels the cold breeze getting cooler and begins to walk towards his hotel, as to get out of the cold.]
Quickenbosh:
My opponent Tiger is a highflyer. Very skilled at the aerial assault. He has one the most devestating frog splashes in the business. There aren't too many men who've kicked out of that finisher. I don't really know if I can be on that short list. But I'm not really worried about that. I'm more worried of another short list. That's the list of guys who advance to the semi finals. My game plan is simple for this Friday.......avoid the frog splash. If I don't put myself in that position, I won't have to worry about making the short list of guys who've kicked out or escaped the pin. I can keep my concentration on the short list of semifinalists. Tiger, you have a remarkable ability of leaping, flying and moving about very quickly. But no one in this business is as quick as I. Why do you think they call me "Lightning Quick"? Its not just to have a cool nickname. Its not just to sell t-shirts. Its because thats how I quick, I really am. Remember..........lightning has a habit of striking.........when you least expect it.
[Shane arrives safely at his hotel. He opens the door and walks into the lobby. His body immediately embraces the heat, as he heads for the elevators to go up to his room.]
