Color Commentary 11/9/05 Edition 3

I bring true color to my commentary and we start with the hot rumor reporting on TNA's website. Early yesterday, TNA reported that the newest edition to TNA's roster will debut this Sunday at Genesis. This is the HOTTEST free agent signing. Of course, the immediate reaction is that its Christian. I think TNA is putting a play on the words and I think we will all be HUGELY dissapointed in Jackie Gayda. Thats what TNA meant by hot....hot like, Jackie hot.

Don't get me wrong, I'll cream my pants if Christian actually showed up this Sunday. And I am not saying it might not eventually happen, but I highly doubt it. I have known Christian, somewhat personally, for the better part of a decade. Jay Reso is a patient and an extremely intelligent person. One of the reasons he chose to not resign was his family. He wants to be home with his wife. I know that Christian being in Tampa and TNA in Orlando is very appealing and again, I think he will eventually show in TNA......but not this soon. Not 2 weeks after walking away from his dream. I think we're all being suckered in to buy this PPV and we will all walk away with a sour taste in our mouths. Of course the TNA marks will all try and sell you on the fact that TNA put on one hell of a PPV and that its still 10X better than what WWE does. Well, fact is TNA Marks.......TNA should change its name to Highspots. You are missing the dramatic and creative storylines. Something that is needed to be main stream. Lets face it.....TNA wants to be main stream. And Spike TV definitely wants that. TNA will always be looked at as a place for wrestlers to go when the E doesn't want them anymore.

If Christian by chance does show, I will freely admit to being wrong. If he does show, this is ABSOLUTELY HUGE FOR TNA! For the first time, someone will actually choose TNA over WWE. They will walk away for certainly a million dollar deal to make pennies on those dollars. If booked properly and not used as Jarrett's whipping boy, Christian could set a milestone and open the door for other big name stars. It will only take 1 or 2 major stars to make a move to TNA to bring it credibility and elevate it to at least an ECW standard.

Lets switch gears. RAW was awful and I mean awful this past week. The highlights of the show was Gregory Helms wrestling Rosey..........DID I JUST SAY A MATCH WITH ROSEY WAS A HIGHLIGHT OF RAW?!?! Yeah, I guess I did. And Kurt Angle was the best part of RAW. Angle and his repeating of his entrance until the fans stopped chanting You Suck. Perfect! Having Daviari back.....WORTHLESS!!!

Joey Styles was great! Coach sucked donkey dick and needs to be taken out of the booth. Styles couldnt get a word in edge wise with Coach mouthing off every 10 seconds. No offense Coach, but you dont have the ability to carry RAW. You dont have the ability to carry Styles jock strap. But just in the little bit you got from Styles.....HE SO OWNED JIM ROSS!!! Please internet fans, SHUT THE FUCK UP about bringing Ross back!!!! I do not want Jim Ross doing play by play on RAW.....he puts me to sleep. Styles at least can keep my interest and bear the awful stories going on.

Eric Bischoff is not a face. When Lita showed him her tits....he should have caved. Bischoff will never be cheered. He is the opposite of Flair. Flair can't go into an arena and have more than 20% of the crowd boo him. He could perform a human sacrafice in the ring and 80% of the crowd will cheer. Bischoff could save a small child from a burning building and 80% of the crowd would still boo him....me included. I would think he started the fire and set this up to try and make himself look good. Bischoff is a great on screen character.......heel character.

I miss John Cena. I mean the old school Cena. The guy who showed up dressed like Vanilla Ice at a Thanksgiving Party. The guy who rifled on kick ass freestyles and was bad ass. This Cena is a watered down version, a commercialized version.

RAW vs. Smackdown sucks. Enough said.

Lita does have a horses face. Nough said.

Best wrestling all weekend is gonna be in Philly...ECW Arena.....CHIKARA!!!! You got to love the crazy guys at Chikara and their excellently blend of wrestling, entertainment, drama and humor. Why cant Quack book Raw?

Brandon Bailey and Eric Hardcastle are going to be in Atlantic City and Chikara's Philly show this weekend. Wish us luck............WE'RE GONNA ROLL SOME BONES!

Saw an interview with Bret Hart on WWE 24/7 Online.....got to feel bad for this guy. I wonder where Bret would be if he had parted on better terms with Vince? Hmmmm......

Dude we were talking about this last night. If Christian was to sign w/ TNA, that would be huge. It would mostly be a psychological blow to the E because they allowed one of their most repsected, and capable talents grow stagnant, and thought they had him in their back pockets. In the words and voice of Steve Austin, "AHN AHN! AIN'T GONNA' HAPPEN!" and he walked. Christian walking into TNA and feuding with Jarrett would be astronomical if done right. Here you have two major players in the prowrestling scene, both walked away from million dollar WWE contracts of their own free will, and help to carry TNA on their backs. WOW...I'd watch it.

The thing is, out of respect for his former employer, Christian probably didn't sign this early. Wrestling has too much loyalty involved in it to do things like that without doing major damage to a wrestler's credibility. There's too much locker room politics, always has been, and this would be no different. It's never good to burn bridges because you'll have to seriously pay for it in the end. Look at the story of the Ultimate Warrior as a shining example of a bad business model in wrestling. Christian is a workhorse, and seems to be a stand-up guy. Stand-up guys in wrestling don't shit on the fed, people, or owners that made them famous. Do you think that the Iron Shiek shits on Vince for giving him the world title for a few days, then immediately placing it on Hogan, and not allowing him to hold the title again? Hell no! Vince made him the ICON he is today, and he is eternally grateful.

Bret Hart is a different story. His whole situation is too fucked up to even comprehend. In my opinion, both parties were wrong at that PPV in Canada. Bret Hart should have never put himself above the business, the fed, and the family that made him a 5 time World Champ. On the other hand, Vince should've laid down the law before Bret walked out to the ring. He should've manned up, laid his grapefruits on the table, and told Bret what he would do if he didn't go out there and lose to HBK. Bret didn't humble himself, Vince took the low road, a bell rang, a loogie in the eye, a sucker punch in the locker room, and years of bad blood followed. I'm glad to see that things are being patched up, but who knows where Bret would be right now if he had just humbled himself. Would he still be wrestling, or would he have been injured by someone else? Who knows?

Onto RAW...I don't watch it anymore. I watch MNF, and get my RAW updates from Hardcastle. Why? I can't get into it anymore. When you're a wrestling purist, you can't keep accepting the same ole' shit. Where are the emotional feuds of old that lasted months on end? Where are the stars that no matter how hard you try to hate, you can't peel your eyes away from their matches? Where are the angles that last more than a month, but don't get stupid after 2 months? They're gone! All of them! One of the last great feuds, and probably one of my all time favorites was the Original Mankind vs Undertaker in the Attitude Era. From the first day that Mankind hit the WWF and attacked Taker at the end of RAW and made him seriously cough up white chunks with the Mandible Claw, I was hooked. From Mankind's dark promos in the ring with his music still playing, to the betrayal of Paul Bearer, to the Boiler Room Brawl, to the original Buried Alive Match, and even down to their final battle (not Hell in a Cell), I was hooked. Now I get force fed a suburban whiteboy, with legitimate mic skillz, who tries to be street, but has boring ass matches. An apple spitting Duche Bag who got pushed for some strange reason. Rob Conway doing his best Randy Orton "Legend Killer" impression. A stereotypical representation of Mexicans that should not be accepted. A retarded wrestling saavant. Bullshit women's wrestling. Another boring ass champion on network television who looks like he's trying to take a dump when his pyros go off. Booker T's talent being overshadowed by his wife's mouth. The loss of a truly deserving talent. Shelton Benjamin on Sunday Night Heat. Angle still not world champ. WTF?!??!! How can people still be truly into this crap?!

Oh, and please don't anybody say, "Well that's what TNA/ROH are for!" Shut that shit up please! I'm so sick of people pushing those feds too. ROH is losing way too much talent like ECW did in their heyday to form a true identity again. Granted, a lot of their main guys still go back and wrestle in their shows, but if TNA gets big enough, they'll start to check that too. Don't believe me? Okay...we'll see.

TNA needs to form it's own identity by not pushing every WWE reject, and start aking their own loyal talent the stars. Tell Ron Killings to stop dancing like a fucking moron and wrestle. He needs to drop the gimmick, because it's fucking stupid; always has been. TNA also needs to focus on the X division because that's their cash-cow. Allow guys like Austin Aries to get near the belt. Allow Samoa Joe to get into a real feud and show his true wrestling talent in matches that last longer than 5 minutes. Stop allowing Petey Williams and Matt Bentley to float around with no real direction. Revamp the World Team X-Divison tournament of old because that shit was nice!

I could go on and on, but I won't. I'm not happy with main event wrestling, but I'll still defend it when any moron walks up and says "You do know it's fake right?" This is just my opinion, so don't take it personally. Just respect it like I respect yours.

the only thing I disagree about is you saying Daivari is worthless because as a wrestling talent, I have heard he can put on a good match. the other thing i feel is wrong is that we are going to be disappointed by the TNA thing as I feel it WILL be Christian. either him or Charlie Hass which would still be good.

Christian will show up in TNA... and job to Jarrett at the next PPV like everyone who comes in does and gets their usual title shot does. Hardy, Nash, DDP, Brown, Raven, etc., they've all done it. Hell, not even Rhino could get past it. Two fucking days? I'm not even gonna say "two weeks" because of it being taped, its still two-fucking days. Jarrett is the thing that'll kill TNA. PUT THE BELT ON JOE AND LET HIM SLAUGHTER EVERYONE TO PIECES!!!

And currently if theirs one thing to watch from WWE, its SD!. Atleast there we see matches, storyline continuation, fresh feuds, oh yeah... and no McMahon's running rampid and Stephanie firing anyone who doesn't think she has the greatest writing skills in the world.

My only arguement with Hardcastle is the Cena stuff. I agree that Heel Cena owned. But now with Brian Gerwitz [Anyone remember Katy Vick?] and these brain-dead writers writing his script, what else do you expect? I prefer him to get the belt taken off of him and have him chase after it again - that way his character can be refreshed.

Not really. Jarrett is an extremely credible champion. Other than AJ, no one you have mentioned has deserved to take Jarrett down. Jarrett is the rightful World Champion.

Smackdown is AWFUL!!!! It is really, really bad. Its the friggn Rey Mysterio/JBL show and it sucks.

Making him chase the title is not a bad idea. But turn him back old school Cena. Get this commercialized version out of here. If the old school Cena is what was able to grow and draw, then why change it? If aint broke, don't fix it.

Smark territory. Face Cena draws more. You must not hear the insane pops he gets every Raw. Don't forget Jericho & Angle have been fan favorites many times, and have been around the block more times than Cena, so again, its mostly smark territory.
