The scene opens outside of an old abandoned gym. A man is seen jogging around the corner of the building, wearing a shirt covered in sweat. He walks up to the doors of the gym and pulls a pair of keys out of his pocket and opens up the doors. He looks around the room and sees the bare walls and empty spaces. He sits down in one corner of the room and looks all around him, looking around for something to do. That’s when he hears a noise from the back of the building; he heads back there and sees the door is cracked. He peeks in and looks in one corner and sees nothing, the other side is different. He is startled for a second then catches his breath and walks through the door. Ryan Young is going through an empty closet full of old workout equipment. He turns around and sees the man standing in the doorway and puts on a smile, his trainer Jason Golden came by. He used to own the gym before Young came by and bought it out, he let Jason know his dreams of becoming a wrestler, knowing that he was in the business. Golden taught him everything he knew, and now Young is in the spotlight and Golden is sitting back in his mansion, enjoying a life with his family.
Jason- So Ryan, I heard you’re gonna be making your return to VWA. Ain’t that the place where you debuted against Pohatu?
Young- It sure is, speaking of Poh, I’m going to be facing him Thursday in my re-debut there, should be a real good match.
Jason- I know it will, but you saw what happened last time, you took him out because you were focused throughout the entire match, and you’ve got to come in there on Thursday with the same attitude. You can’t let anything stand in your way.
Young- Yea, yea, yea, I know what you mean. I’ve heard this talk like a thousand times before J, I’m good. You don’t have to worry about me anymore…I’m a pro remember?
Jason shakes his head and lets out a sigh. He heads over to another corner of the room, one with a chair in it, and he sits down. He stares out the window into the empty fields, filled with snow. Sure, it might not be the best condition to train in, but it should be fun. He looked over at Young, who was lacing up his boots and looking for an old shirt to throw on. The two of them would be doing a little bit of training in the ring to try and get ready for the match against Pohatu on Thursday. Young finds a ripped up white shirt and throws it on, he looks at Jason and points at the door, signaling that he is ready to get started.
The two walk down the hall and take a left turn into a large room with a ring sitting in the middle of it. Young sprints to the ring and slides under the ropes and leans against the turnbuckle while Jason stretches outside of the ring.
Jason- Y’know I’m gonna be going easy on ya right kid? I can’t have you going into Thunder all bruised and battered.
Young- Oh trust me J, around five minutes in you’ll give up on takin’ it easy on me, after I throw you down on the mat a few times and make you look foolish, you’ll be going all at me like I was your worst enemy….like I was Pohatu.
Jason cracks a smile and runs into the ring, he heads right for Young who ducks under the clothesline that Jason throws at him. Young locks in a quick cobra clutch, which catches Jason off guard. He fights out of it and elbows Young in the stomach then hits a quick ddt on him. Young quickly hops up from the ground and sees Jason running at him once more. Young hits the mat and Jason hops over him. When he comes back Young is on his feet and hits a backdrop which floors Jason.
Young- Didn’t I tell you I was getting better at this? At this rate I’ll have Pohatu done in 5 minutes…max.
Jason doesn’t smile at that one, he’s beginning to get a little angry that the student is beating the master. He whips Young into the ropes then gets hit with a dropkick to his chest, after that kick Jason rolls out of the ring to catch his breath.
Jason- Heh, you weren’t lying when you told me you’d been training. But now I think its time that I start trying.
Jason slides back into the ring and ducks under a clothesline attempt from Young, then hits him with a few right hands which knock him into the ropes. Young gets whipped into the turnbuckle and before he can move Jason is flying at him with a huge clothesline which nearly knocks him off of his feet. Before he can catch his balance he gets hit with a german suplex that has a nasty landing. He drops on the back of his head and Jason immediately knows that something’s gone wrong. Young isn’t moving and Jason is trying to keep calm. The rest goes by in a blur and the next thing he knows Young is sitting in a hospital bed and has a neck brace on.
Young looks around but can’t move his head too much due to the nasty bump he took. He sees Jason sitting in the corner silently cursing to himself, knowing that even though he didn’t mean to, that injury was his fault. Young begins to think to himself about what this could lead to, with Thunder only a day away he might not be able to wrestle.
Damn, damn, damn, damn, damn. Why did I have to go into that warm-up ring with J. I should have known that something bad was going to happen, especially with the luck that I’ve been having. What if I can’t wrestle on Thursday, even worse what if I’m out for awhile? Wrestling is my entire life, if I’m out for an extender period of time then I might not be able to pay the bills, I might be done for. Damnit, if this costs me my re-debut against Pohatu I’m going to kill J. He’s gone regret----
Before he can even finish his thoughts, a doctor walks in and interrupts the silence between the two. He looks at Young, then at Jason. He walks right up to the bed and looks at the papers he has on the clipboard he is carrying. He lets out a long sigh then begins to speak.
Doctor Jones- Well Mr. Young, I’ve got good news and bad news. The good news is that you will be able to step inside of the ring again; the bad news is that you aren’t cleared to wrestle tomorrow night on Thunder. I know that it is going to hurt you to not step into the ring and make your debut again in front of those fans, but you’re just not in the shape to do that. If you do then you could seriously injure your neck and possibly put your career on the line.
WHAT! Oh no, fuck this guy. I’m going to step in that ring tomorrow night regardless of what is good for me and what isn’t. I’m going to go out there, put on a show for my fans and prove to everyone at VWA that I really am a true hotshot!
Thirty minutes later, Young is out of the hospital and sitting at his home. Jason has left, knowing that he needs some time alone. He knows that despite his injury he is still going to wrestle, even though it isn’t the smartest idea, but there is no stopping him from getting into that ring tomorrow, so why try it.
Young is seen lying on his couch and slowly flipping through the channels, nothing is on so he decides he’ll finish what he started.
Young- Well Poh, I’m going to wrestle you tomorrow night. I’m putting my career on the line just to prove to everybody that I really am a superstar. I’m going to make it 2-0 over you tomorrow night, you’re going to get beaten once more. I walked into that match last time not knowing what to expect from you. I knew that you were a talented athlete, but I had never stepped into the ring with you before, and now that I have, I know how overrated you are. People say that you’re one of the greatest in the business right now; I say that those people are blind. You, Pohatu, you are nothing compared to me. Would you walk into the ring with an injury like this, an injury that could very well put me down for the rest of my career? Do you realize that if I make one wrong move, miss one top rope plunge, or land an inch off of my landing spot that I could be carried out on a stretcher? You seem to think that it’s all fun and games here tomorrow, right Poh? Well that’s where you’re wrong. I’m coming in here and throwing it all out there to please the fans, to show everyone that I’m worthy of being in the spotlight at VWA. And tomorrow night, I’m going to show them that. I’m going to show that the last time we faced each other, that my win wasn’t a fluke. I beat you fair and square, I simply outwrestled you. So even though I said earlier that you were nothing compared to me, I still have respect for you man. You took out the man who gave me this injury, you beat the man who trained me. But then again, I took you out too, so I guess we’re even ain’t we Poh. But back to the point, tomorrow night…we’re leaving it all in the ring, and I’m lookin’ forward to it. So may the best man win Poh….may the best man win.

*sorry it's not up to par, I'm having to cut my comp off for awhile 'cause I'm in the process of moving right now, but it will be back up within a day or two. A shame that I couldn't really put all my effort into this but oh well.*
