The scene faded in on the kitchen of Pohatu's house, showing that him and Dave Masters were each munching away at a bowel of cereal, each of them reading something while they at. For Pohatu, it was that day's newspaper, while in contrast for Dave Masters, it was the VWA News Bulletin. After about a minute, Dave sat back and cleared his throat a bit to get Pohatu's attention, Dave sliding the bulletin across the table to the cruiserweight once he had Pohatu's attention.
Dave Masters: Seems with the tournament, you've forgotten that you have a match this at the upcoming Sunday Night Slam?
Pohatu: I do?
Dave Masters: Take a look for yourself.
Pohatu did as he was instructed, lifting up the bulletin that Dave had slid across the table to him, flipping through a couple of pages before he finally found the Sunday Night Slam card, looking through each of the matches before finally finding his match. He furrowed his brows, showing that he wasn't quite sure how to react as he set the bulletin back down, looking up at Dave.
Pohatu: I don't think I've seen that guy around backstage since I came here.
Dave Masters: That's because this is Cardinal's re-debut match, which means you have to kick his butt and you have to kick it hard.
Pohatu: Did you find anything out about him?
Dave Masters: Had to dig a bit, but I managed to find a copy of the profile sheet he turned into management.
Dave slid another piece of paper across the table to Pohatu, Pohatu picking it up and skimming through it, stopping and furrowing his brows. He then lowered it back down, grinning slightly at Dave.
Pohatu: He honestly thinks he can hit a corkscrew 630 splash?
Dave Masters: Apparently. And he also seems to think that him and the legendary Homicide are on the same level, seeing as how he uses 187 in his theme song and in the names of his moves.
Pohatu: Well, the majority of these moves seem easy to counter, especially The 187. With my hard head, all that would happen from him doing that move is hurting his knee.
Dave chuckled a bit from that statement, shaking his head as he got up, taking his bowl with him over to the kitchen sink and setting it inside, turning on the faucet and putting a little bit of water into the bowl, but then quickly turned off the faucet and went back to his seat, sitting down and leaning against the table.
Dave Masters: What else is there that you can see?
Pohatu: He seems to really like to use hardcore methods, which means I'll need to watch out for those light tubes...unless he tries to break them over my head.
Dave Masters: What style should you probably use for this match, seeing as how Cardinal's style is high flying and hardcore?
Pohatu: High flying and mat wrestling.
Dave Masters: And why would you want to use that style?
Pohatu: If I can keep him grounded, he won't be able to grab any weapons to use in the match. Along with that, keeping him grounded for a certain period of time, such as applying a submission hold, would probably leaved him a little dazed.
Dave Masters: Why would you want him to be dazed?
Pohatu got out of his chair, taking his bowl to the kitchen sink and did the same thing that Dave had done, then going back to his seat and sitting down, thinking about Dave's question for a few seconds before continuing to speak.
Pohatu: Because it would leave him wide open for a high flying move, such as a crossbody block, missile drop kick, and other such moves.
Dave Masters: Percisely. I think you're finally starting to get your head into the game, Pohatu.
Pohatu: Thanks, Dave. Why don't we head down to the basement and start training now?
The two got up and went around to the basement door, Pohatu opening the door and turning on the basement light. Dave nodded his thanks and descended the stairs, Pohatu following after him and closing the door behind him as we fade...to....black.
