"Mistakes...wow, talk about feeling dumb."
The scene faded back in to show Pohatu standing outside the gym he had been working in, now dressed in winter clothes, unlike before. Shalev Adam was nowhere in sight, and the lights of the gym were just starting to power down, so the only light came from the camera itself and the street lights.
Pohatu: Dinero, I made a rather big mistake in my last little spat on you. When I looked at the card for the PayPerView, I thought I had seen you lined up for the title match against Paine, but I obviously misread something in there. Not sure where, but oh well.
Pohatu let out a slow sigh, the breath coming out and looking like smoke, due to the cold weather. The light heavyweight shook his head slowly, obviously not liking how big of a mistake he had made, his eyes refocusing on the camera.
Pohatu: Dinero, you may think that my insults are childish and everything, but I know what I'm talking about. Despite the small age difference between us, you have not allowed the younger talent to shine through. You have the experience that the new guys who are coming in don't, and you need to help them, make them realize what they can do so that they can one day become the best.
Pohatu glanced to his left, tilting his head back as if looking for something, his gaze refocusing on the camera a few seconds later.
Pohatu: Dinero, the reason I don't surround myself with the 'best', is because I can't stand their attitudes half the time. I befriend the people who are at my level, who think similarly to me, because I wouldn't have it any other way. They are at the same social class as me, not above me, not below me, the same as me. I've worked to gain what I have so far, Dinero, just like you've done with your money. But what I've gained is more important than money. Can Money buy you the experience you need to survive in life? Can money buy you happiness? No, it can't. Money is just paper with some silk mixed into it, printed green to make it look different from other types of paper.
Pohatu stopped himself, closing his eyes and shaking his head a couple of times before beginning to speak again.
Pohatu: Dinero, I am not a fraud. Despite everything you say, despite everything you've tried to do, I am as much of a man as you are. I can back up my words, and I will do just that at Thunder. You want to try and prove me wrong? Go ahead, try to do it, Dinero. You'll fail, just as everyone in the past federations I've been in have tried, and failed. You want to try and humiliate me in front of my fans and friends? You'll succeed about as much as you have in trying to scare me. I don't get scared. I look into the face of everything that scares people, and I laugh. I face that fear and I fight it to the utmost of my ability.
Pohatu readjusted his nitcap on his head, pulling it down a bit snugger over his ears, causing the hat to cover the majority of his forehead and partially his eyebrows. The eyes of the light heavyweight still looked directly into the camera, showing no fear at all.
Pohatu: I'm not scared of you, Dinero. I'm not scared of Ryan Young, The Creeper, ZMaster, Immune, none of them. I'll face them, I'll face you, and I'll still just work to the best of my ability to win, making sure that the audience enjoys themselves in the process. I fight for the people, with them backing me up one hundred precent. A few of your 'employees' probably don't like me, but they know what I can do, and what will happen at Thunder. You want me, Dinero? Come get me.
Pohatu took a step back, pulling out a keychain and pressing a small button on one of the decorations on it, a 'beep-beep' being heard a few feet away, though the camera did not pan around to see which car it was. Instead, it stayed focused on Pohatu, who looked more than ready for anything.
Pohatu: Dinero, at Thunder, this isn't going to be a wresting match. No, you've escalated it too far. This is going to be just a flat-out FIGHT. As soon as both of us are in the ring, it's not going to be about showing off the mat wrestling, or trying to hit the highest move. It's just going to be what Jim Ross would call a 'Slobber-knocker'. Punch after punch, jab after jab, kick after kick. I will go toe to toe with you, Dinero, and I won't back down. I will be up in your face and asking for more, while at the same time returning the favor to you, William.
Pohatu stopped again, gritting his teeth for a few seconds before releasing them and shaking his head, making it obvious he had started to let his temper take control again, but had managed to stop himself. The junior heavyweight raised his head again, an emotionless look now on his face.
Pohatu: Dinero, what do you have riding on tomorrow's night match? I know your reputation is on the line as one of the top people in Valor, but my reputaton is also on the line tomorrow night. My reputation as the new up and comer who's trying to make an impact, beating everything that's thrown his way and showing that he's ready for the main event spot.
Pohatu sighed a bit and slumped his shoulders, the sides of his mouth opening up a bit and a soft breath of air escaping them, making it appear, for a few seconds, that he had mammoth-like teeth on either side of his teeth.
Pohatu: Dinero, you are a man I actually heavily respect. Everything I've said, everything I've done when it comes to you...has just been my way of trying to impress you. I extend my hand to you in apology now, and hope that tomorrow's match will be one of honor, and not just a couple of testerone-filled idiots trying to kill each other. Okay?
With that, Pohatu walked into the parking lot of the gym, the camera feed cutting off as Pohatu mixed in with the shadows.
