After Horror’s Special – RP#1
Following his grueling, intense, fast-paced Ultimate X Match at VWA Halloween Horror’s, we fade into the blank picture of an exstatic Martin Paine looking at a TV Screen. The screen is showing his win, as tainted as it may be, over Pohatu, Ryan Young, and Anthony Shadows. Rewind, pause, play, rewind, pause play – the things that are going on in the tape Paine is watching. He has a smile on his face as a white towel falls over his pec muscles. Sweat is long gone from his body, as he has changed into some track pants. He sits back with the remote in his hand, smiling at the picture of him holding the briefcase that contains his #1 Contendership for the up-coming Valor Jr. Heavyweight Title. What does the #1 Contender have to say? Well that’s what the camera’s there for.
Martin Paine: Finally. The extremist has done it. I have concurred the part of getting oot of my brother’s shadow and doing something on my own – and I did it. I won #1 Contendership for the Valor Jr Title. This belt is a belt that not only proves that their can be exciting matches that don’t involve 300 lb muscled idiots running and grunting at each other, but that the Junior Weight’s in this fed know how to get it done in the ring. When it comes to high flying and brawling, I don’t disappoint – Hence the “Extreme” in my name. I plan to give you, the fans, 150% every time I go oot there to wrestle and be the greatest, and I started that at Halloween Horror’s when I defeated not 1, but 3 of some of Valor’s greatest Junior Weight’s, and proclaimed my shot at the new belt that’ll be arriving soon. Now I have word from Steven Lynch that the belt is coming before year’s end, and with me getting instant #1 Contendership. Now I won’t even knock it, that match was one of the most grueling matches I’ve ever taken part in. Falling off ladders, getting hit with weapons, taking some of the most brutal beatings I’ve ever experience. But in the end, it was all worth it. You know why?
Martin drops his left hand from camera site. He pulls it back up, but with it is the black briefcase that he pulled down from the Ultimate X to give him the right to become #1 Contender. He rubs the cover of the case for a few moments before opening it up. He pulls out a contract that has all the information concerning his Junior Title shot. He grabs a pen from the Case as well.
Martin Paine: Now that the PPV is over with and everyone is in the shower getting ready to head to the after-party, I’m going to take this time to officially sign the contract that cements my shot at the title.
Martin aims the pen at the Clipboard and begins to sign the contract. Within seconds, he pops shut the pen and places all the information back into the briefcase before closing it up.
Martin Paine: There. The contract is officially signed and on its way for Steven Lynch to see. But first, theirs a match that I need to get oot of the way, and apparently its on Thunder against Havok, an up-start in the Junior Division similar to me. Both of us are trying to make a name for ourselves not only in Valor, but in the Junior Division. A lot of talent in that division. Me, him, Anthony Shows, Pryme, Ryan Young, Justin Tyme, a lot of guys that are worthy of that belt. But I’m getting the shot at it, but it’s only a matter of maintaining it. With that contract I just signed, their’s a lot of people going to gun for that shot at the belt, and are willing to take me out at any moment to get this shot. I’m a fighting man, and I’m willing to fight anyone at any time if their willing to give up a straight-up fight. Havok, there is something I’d like for you know. I hear the stuff you say backstage aboot how your gunnin’ for the Junior Title when it finally debut’s, but while your gunning for it, I’m already an ace in the hole.
I have my shot already guaranteed when it debut’s. It might seem like I’m always mentioning it every time I get camera time, but it only covers my anxiousness. I’m more than anxious to have this belt debut and have me finally get my hands on some gold around this place. Havok, while your clawing your way to the top Jungle Gym, fighting other Junior’s on your way up, I’ll be the big mean kid sitting on the top of it pointing and laughing. Your whole “Emo, goth, I hate life so let me cute myself” motif is terrible and over-done. I wouldn’t be surprised if you added “Quote the Havok… never more” at the end of your promo’s. I know your good, I know. But in the ring, you can’t out-do me – and that is a fact. Martin Paine can’t be out-done. I proved it agaynst Pohatu, I proved it agaynst Ryan Young, and I proved it agaysnt Anthony Shadow’s. When the going got tough, I got right back up and continued to take the beating. I knew I had that match WON, but it was all a matter of me just digging down deep, fighting back, and climbing that wire to get this briefcase. Martin Paine won’t disappoint, and I know my extremist’s out there believe I won’t.
Martin stands up and continues to stare into the camera with a frank look on his face.
Martin Paine: Havok, I understand your quest to becoming Jr. Champion is happening now, but it won’t end nicely. I want that belt as much as you do, maybe even more. Screw it, I DO want it even more. As good as I say you are, your still not as good as me. I’m better than you on my worst day, and you can’t top me on your best day. On Thunder, we’ll see just who is better, but I promise you – Whatever the out-come, your NOT going anywhere near my title…
Martin just smirks it off as he grabs his briefcase and the remote. He presses a button on the remote that turns the TV monitor back on. He throws the remote down before heading out the room. The camera gets a close up of the TV monitor.
