Young gets up and hits a standing shooting star press for the pin...2 count. Young tries to pick Pohatu up, but is surprised by a jaw breaker. Pohatu signals for the end and climbs the top turnbuckle. He signals to the crowd again and goes for Lightning Never Strikes Twice, a shooting star headbutt...MISS. Young rolls out of the way and Pohatu lands face first. Young staggers to his feet and picks up a limp Pohatu. He bodyslams him and climbs the top rope. Young signals for the end but Pohatu gets up and tries to hit a superplex. Young blocks, hits Pohatu with a few rib shots, and pushes him down. Pohatu falls from the top ropes, Young signals, and hits The Hotshot 450. Pin...1, 2, 3.
Pohatu snapped awake from his dream, sitting up with a cold sweat on his face, neck, and chest area, all of which had been uncovered from the blankets when he sat up, his chest heaving in short bursts of breath. After a few seconds, his breathing slowly calmed down again and Pohatu scooted back a bit, leaning against the head board of his bed and closing his eyes, obviously trying to relax after the dream he had just had.
Pohatu: (thinking) That's what happened before, I don't have to worry about it...right?
Pohatu slowly reopened his eyes and glanced over to his right, towards his alarm clock, letting out a soft sigh as he saw that it was only four thirty in the morning. The junior heavyweight let a soft sigh escape his lips as he hunced forward a bit, shaking his head slightly.
Pohatu: And here I thought I was done waking up this early. Oh well, better get up and start training for my match at Thunder.
Pohatu threw back the blankets, revealing that he was wearing a pair of lounge pants that had the design from Pink Floyd's 'Darkest Side of the Moon' album, the design everywhere on his pants. He stepped out of bed and walked over to the door of the room, hitting the light switch, wincing slightly as the room lit up.
Pohatu: (thinking) Why am I losing sleep over my re-debut match? It's only Thunder...but I'm facing Ryan Young. He beat me in my debut match on Thunder all that time ago, but he got eliminated in the first round of the YLC. I went all the way to the semi-finals, losing against that masked wonder, Steve Castle.
Pohatu opened up the door to his room and stepped out, glancing from side to side before hitting another light switch, the hallway lighting up, showing a staircase off to Pohatu's left. The junior heavyweight turned to his left and walked downstairs, blinking in surprise when he saw that the lights were already on downstairs.
Pohatu: (thinking) Who the....
Pohatu trailed off as he followed the source of the light, showing that it lead to the kitchen, which he quickly walked into, looking like he was ready to lash out at whoever it was, but a small smile came onto his lips as recognized his friend, Shalev Adam.
Pohatu: Shalom, Shalev. Bit early, don't you think?
Shalev looked up from his bowl of cereal, the newspaper right beside him.
Shalev Adam: It could be, but you have to taken into consideration that I'm usually up about a half hour earlier than this.
This got a chuckle out of both of them as Pohatu moved around the kitchen, putting together a bowl of cereal for himself. Once he had served himself he went and sat across from his friend, letting out a soft yawn before looking to his friend.
Shalev Adam: So, you ready for Thunder?
Pohatu choked a bit on his cereal, obviously having not expected that to be brought up so quickly. Once he had himself under control, he sighed and looked to his friend.
Pohatu: In all honestly...I'm not sure. Ryan Young beat me last time we faced off on Thunder, but he didn't make it past the first round of the YLC. Now here we are again, me a semi-finalist in the YLC and him just some random jobber.
Shalev Adam: What happened the first time you faced off?
Pohatu: I didn't take him seriously enough, so he was able to get the upperhand and lay me down long enough in order for him to hit The Hot Shot. I--
Shalev raised a hand up, signalling for the junior heavyweight across from him to fall silent.
Shalev Adam: So what are you going to do differently this time?
Pohatu: Take him more seriously, first and foremost. I also can't give him any room to breath. I have to be right there in his face, not backing down or anything. If I do that, he won't get the chance to hit that top rope for either of his finishers.
Shalev Adam: What style is he known for?
Pohatu: Technical and high flying, but I still don't think he can high fly as much as I can. When it comes to technical wrestling, he might have me a little outdone. As long as I can avoid getting dragged down onto the mat and be able to stay in the air, I might just be able to keep the advatange.
Shalev Adam: That'll mean lots of running and springboarding. Do you have the stamina for it?
Pohatu: I've been running a mile every morning except this one since...the beginning of the YLC? You tell me if I have enough stamina.
Shalev chuckled a bit at that and nodded, showing that he understood what his friend was getting at. By this time, Shalev had finished off his cereal, now taking it up to the kitchen sink and setting it down inside the sink before walking back and sitting back down.
Shalev Adam: How about your finishers? Think they'll be able to take down Young?
Pohatu: Hopefully they will. If not, I can always try to pull something out of nowhere.
Shalev Adam: Such as...?
Pohatu: C.M. Punk used to be known for using the Pepsi Plunge for his finisher, right? Well, near the end of his RoH career, he used the Anaconda Vice more and more often to end his matches, being able to lock in that move out of nowhere. He came up with that move in the middle of one of his matches, and I think he used that move to end the match even.
Shalev Adam: But that was C.M. Punk. Do you think you can do it?
Pohatu: I did it a few times against you in wrestling school.
Shalev gave Pohatu a look of surprise before the two of them just burst out into absolute laughter, Pohatu getting up after about ten seconds to go and put his bowl of cereal into the sink, then moving and sitting back down across from Shalev.
Shalev Adam: So, you're going to try and make it so Young won't be able to take you down to the mat, and so that he won't be able to take to the air. Where's the balance?
Pohatu: Hard hitting power moves, strikes, and a variety of submission holds. If I focus on his legs, he won't have enough strength to jump onto the ropes or be able to clamber up onto the top rope.
Shalev Adam: Which means?
Pohatu: It means that he won't be able to his either of his finishers. One of them is a 450 Splash and the other is a top rope Stunner, like Tiger's Final Kill move. If he doesn't have enough strength left in his legs to climb up onto the top rope, how do you expect him to have enough strength to leap up and get enough air time for either of the moves?
Shalev Adam: Good, very good. Now, go do your stretches. I say give yourself at least thirty seconds on each stretch. If you do that, your body may've digested enough of your breakfast for you to be able to run a mile this morning.
Pohatu: Good idea, gotta keep my stamina up, after all.
The two nodded and got up and walked out of the room as we fade...to...black.
