2005 Young Lion's Cup Results Night 1

[Hardcastle]

<The screen zooms in to a shot of the YLC Trophy. "The Next Two Weeks" by Halifax begins playing. Numerous images begin to appear of different participants, including Will Dinero, Steve Castle, Saku, Shane Quickenbosh, Ryan Young, Havok and Pohatu. Freeze frames from Saku's moonsault to Shane Quickenbosh's tope con hilo are shown. A shot of Pohatu and Ryan Young facing off, followed by an Arabian facebuster of Havok's. The screen then fades to ringside, where Kevin Olbermand and Mean Mike Patrick are seated. The 2005 YLC Trophy sits at the announce table.>

K: Welcome everybody to Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City New Jersey!!! Welcome to Night 1 of The Young Lion's Cup!!! I'll be your host, Kevin Olberman and alongside me is my tag team partner, Mean Mike Patrick.

M: CRAPS!

K: What happened, Mike?

M: Rolled a damn 7. Damn it!

K: You are throwing bones on the announce table?

M: Got to practice.

K: Practice? Craps is not an olympic sport.

M: Shhh...you are breaking my concentration. Come on......6!!

K: For the next several weeks, we will be coming to you live from Boardwalk Hall for the 2005 Young Lion's Cup Tournament. 16 individuals from promotions around the country will get it on in this building over the next several weeks. Each vying for the right to be the 2005 Young Lion's Cup Champion. Vying to be known as the best. Mean Mike, anyone you feel is the big favorite in this tournament?

M: I gotta lean on Will Dinero, Olberman. Here we have a true veteran of the sport. He was doing X Division wrestling before there was an X division.

K: Over the last week or so, there have been some heated discussions exchanged on the YLC message board between a number of the participants. You can tell this one is heating up. Any dark horses, Mean Mike?

M: No. YLC isn't going to have a cinderella like Quickenbosh eluded too. Will there be an upset or 2? Sure. But this tournament is setup so that the 1 seed faces the 2 seed in the final. I dont expect anything different. Dinero and Saku in the finals. Dinero to win.

K: I have to say I have noticed the work of a young man named Havok of recent. This man has come onto the scene like a ball of fire. I think he may have a good chance to get to the finals and win it.

M: The kid who got stuffed in a locker by Juba?!

K: Yeah...him.

M: HA! HA! HA! I got a better chance to roll box cars right now.

<Patrick rolls the dice and two 6s appear. Patrick's eyes widen.>

K: Interesting. We are going to open up YLC with that darkhorse, Havok and his opponent, Ryan Young. Lets get down to the ring.

<In the ring>

SB: Ladies and gentlemen, our opening contest for the 2005 Young Lion's Cup Championship is scheduled for one fall and has a 20 minute time limit. Introducing first from New York, New York. He stands 6'1" and weighs 220lbs..................."HOT SHOT" RYAN YOUNG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

<The arena gets dark all of a sudden and the fans look around, they know whats happening, its just a matter of waiting for it. Suddenly the arena is illuminated by red pyros flashing up from the rop of the ramp. As the lights slowly come back on 'One of a Kind' by Breaking Point hits and they know whats coming. Ryan Young walks out from the back with a hood covering his head. The back of his jacket has 'Hotshot' written in red, flame letters. He looks around at the crowd then flips the hood off of his head and looks at the fans in the front. He slowly begins to make his way down the ramp and slides under the ropes. He points up at the fans in the upper section of the arena and he lets out a cocky grin. He goes to the ropes facing the ramp and he uses a hand gesture to let his opponent know hes ready. Then he anxiously awaits for him to make his way down to the ring.>

K: Young being met with a mixed reaction.

M: Who cares?

SB: And his opponent. He hails from Anderson, Indiana. He stands 6'0" and weighs in at 220lbs............................HAVOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

<Lights go out and the stage lights up while Crazy Train is blarring out of the PA system, and then the light leaves the stage and travels through the fans and out from the fans comes Havok jumping from out the fans ring barrier and Havok slides into the ring and then leanes up against the ropes and awaits his opponent to enter the ring.>

K: A nice response for Havok, here this evening.

M: Where the hell is Anderson Indiana?

K: Indiana, I assume.

M: Thanks Olberman. Is that Indiana United States or Indiana India?! You dumbass!

K: Referee Jeff Bausman calls for the bell and this match is underway.

M: Olberman, I think this is gonna be one tough battle. I dont see either one having an advantage over the other.

K: I have to agree.....both men lockup and its Ryan Young who emerges with a sideheadlock. Havok trying to find the counter here. Havok pushes Young off.....no, Young is going to hold onto the headlock.

M: Strange to say, but Ryan Young is going to have the power advantage in this match.

K: And Havok the quickness advantage. Havok still caught up in this sideheadlock.....now finally gets the Irish whip..........Hotshot hits the ropes.....Havok ducks down, step over and Hotshot from the far side.......HIP TOSS by HAVOK! Young back up and Havok with a dropkick to the mush and Young rolls out to the floor.

M: Ryan Young is gonna slow this tempo down. Not gonna play Havok's ga......

K: PLANCHA FROM THE TOP!!!!!!!!!!!

M: Crash and burn.

K: Havok misses and Young grabs Havok and tosses him back into the ring. Young now.......slingshot leg drop and he makes the cover.........

M: Almost.

K: Havok sitting up and Young connects with a dragon kick to the back. Very nicely done. Young off the ropes.......dropkick to the side of the head and Havok just slumps over. Young will try another cover........

M: Havok is showing some heart.

K: A lot of it. Conspicuous by her absence tonight is Alora Heart. She did not make the trip to AC.

M: She has a gambling problem.

K: Stop it! Young with Havok now....Havok with a forearm and another. Havok off the ropes and Young connects with a high knee right to the face. Young climbing to the top rope...........spla........Havok rolls out of the way and Young rolls through. Young turns and Havok connects with a dropkick and another and a third. Havok regaining some momentum. Havok backs Young into the far corner.......hard chop. Havok with the Irish whip......reversed by Young and Havok springs to the second rope........back elbow and he drops the Hotshot!

M: Crowd is getting into it now.

K: Great athletic match here. Havok now........standing shooting star and Havok may have him here..........

M: Inches away.

K: Jeff Bausman says a 2 only. Havok cannot believe it was a 2 count only. Havok with Young.............inside cradle................Havok rolls it back and he has the inside cradle.......roll back by Young.........and they finally roll out of it. Havok is up and charges...........Japanese arm drag by Young. Havok back up....and Young connects with the spin heel kick! Young quickly floats over for the cover, but Havok has his foot on the rope already. Bausman saying, no pinfall.

M: For all the viewers who only have your sound on and no picture.

K: What about our blind viewers?

M: Why would blind people watch TV?

K: Nevermind. Young with the scoop.....Havok escapes. Havok rolls up Young......Young pushes off and Havok to his feet.......Young turns....kick to the gut by Havok. Havok grabs Young............SPRINGBOARD BULLDOG!!!! This could be it. No, Havok is calling for his finisher here. Havok springs to the top rope..................WRECKING HAVOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! K: There's the 3 count and the match. Havok is going to advance out of round 1. What a way to kick off this 2005 Young Lion's Cup Tournament!!

M: No upset in that match. The 7 over the 10.

K: Alright, up next we got a 5 and 12.

M: Upset city, baby! Every year in the NCAA tournaments a 12 upsets a 5, at least once.

K: Can lightning strike here in Atlantic City?

<Mean Mike is on his cell phone.>

M: Yeah......thats $1000 on..........umm....

<Mean Mike grabs his bracket sheet and looks it over.>

M:...........yeah...Roy Chambers. Roy Chambers over Pryme a 12 over a 5.

K: Well, we know who Mean Mike is cheering for. The odds are stacked against Chambers. Can he pull out the upset? Referee Shawn Esher is in the ring and lets find out. Steve Bond...take it away!

<In the ring>

SB: Ladies and gentlemen, the next contest in the 2005 Young Lion's Cup Tournament is scheduled for one fall with a 20 minute time limit. Introducing first, from Las Vegas Nevada. He stands 5'11" and weighs 220lbs................PRYME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

<Pyro Missiles hit the ramp as Pryme steps out from the back of the curtain, when the explosion clears Pryme jumps through the smoke and runs down the ramp smacking the hands of the excited fans. Pryme then slides into the ring and run to the turnbuckle and throw his hands straight up into the air and then jumps down and walks to the nearest ropes and pulls on them and begins stretching until his opponent comes to the ring.>

K: Pryme looks to be in tip top shape tonight.

M: Olberman, every YLC competitor is in tip top shape. They have to be in order to even be invited to YLC.

SB: And his opponent. He hails from San Francisco, California. He stands 6'1" and weighs in at 229lbs.........................."The Heartbreaker" Roy Chambers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

<The lights go out and the arena is completely dark. The Barton Town fans give a pop that hardly competes with the booing from the Gambino fans, and is completely overpowered when the guitar introduction of Jimmy Page chimes in. When the percussion joins in a spotlight falls on the stage, revealing a new curtain that proudly displays Roy Chamber’s Heartbreak Emblem. The emblem consists of two halves of a broken heart, a large golden H Is imposed over the left half, and a large golden B is imposed on the right half, wit the letters C-H-A-M-B-E-R-S running down the rift between the halves. Thecurtain is disrupted by Roy Chambers bursting through a slash in the middle, and thrusting his GWA Prime Time title belt skywards! He marches down the aisle confidently, climbs onto the apron, and stands proudly with one foot on the second rope, one on the top, and his title in his right hand, swaying over his head. He hops off the northern ropes and leans against the turnbuckle, awaiting his opponent.>

K: And this crowd not impressed by Roy Chambers.

M: Chambers is the GWA Primetime Champion and my new favorite wrestler.

K: What?!

M: If he wins, that is.

K: Esher calls for the bell and Chambers and Pryme come to the center of the ring. Pryme extends his hand for a handshake and Chambers slaps it away. Pryme cannot believe it and Chambers is smugly laughing. What an ass...........FOREARM TO THE FACE!!! Pryme with another and another. Pryme with Chambers....Irish whip..........spin heel kick and down goes Chambers. Chambers back up and Pryme with a dropkick to the knee.....drops Chambers right down to the mat. Pryme off the ropes.........ROLLING THUN.........Chambers rolls out of the way and Pryme hits the mat hard. Pryme sits up.........dragon kick right to the side of the face by Chambers. Chambers makes the cover...........

K: Roy Chambers does the unthinkable and he pulls out the upset. Roy Chambers a 12 seed just upset the 5 seed in Pryme!!!! There is Mr. Cinderella that Quickenbosh had talked about.

M: Thats Mr. 1000 dollars that I'm talkn about. This must be what Willis was talkn about!

K: We are half way through with night one. We got two matches remaining tonight. Dinero and O'Riley later on and up next.....Quickenbosh and Paine. This seems to be the most intriguing matchup of the night. Paine is a great chain wrestler and we have seen just how Quickenbosh can hang in with chain wrestling.

M: Paine brings the strength advantage.

K: And Quick the speed. We are just moments away to find out which one of these two can advance in the 2005 YLC Tournament!

<In the ring>

SB: Ladies and gentlemen, the following contest is your third YLC Tournament match. It is scheduled for one fall and has a 20 minute time limit. Introducing first, from Edmonton Alberta Canada. He stands 5'11" and weighs in at 203lbs....................."The Extremeist" Martin Paine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

<None really. Just the usual.>

K: Martin Paine, as technically sound as they come.

M: That is the strangest entrance I have ever seen.

SB: And his opponent. From West Mars, Pennsylvania. He stands 6'0" and weighs in at 197lbs....................."LIGHTNING QUICK" SHANE QUICKENBOSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

<"Break It Down Again" softly plays. The crowd stands to their feet and begin to cheer. The music begins to grow louder, as the curtains open and "Lightning Quick" Shane Quickenbosh appears on the stage. He raises his arms up in the air and begins to bounce from side to side. He darts down the ramp and into the aisle. He points directly at the camera, as he walks down the aisle. He reaches his arms out, from side to side, slapping hands with the fans. He stops in the middle of the aisle and leans his back against the guard rail, as the fans embrace him. With a huge smile on his face, he points at the ring and leaps to the apron. He grabs the top rope and flips himself into the ring. He climbs to the middle rope and raises his arms to the crowd for another round of cheers.>


K: What an extremely warm welcome for Shane Quickenbosh! I swear, it doesn't matter what arena we are in, the fans just embrace a guy like Quick.

M: That munchkin?!

K: Fans like to cheer those under dogs and Shane Quickenbosh epitomizes underdog.

M: UNDERDOG!!!! He will save the day.

K: What?!

M: The cartoon.

K: This is an intriguing matchup.

M: Sure it is.

K: The bell sounds and Quickenbosh extends his hand to The Extrememist. And we get a handshake. Got to love that.

M: BOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

K: Both men lockup and Paine goes right to work with the hammerlock. Quick trying to find the escape and does and into a hammerlock of his own. Lets see Paine work. Paine.....with the leg trip and he has the step over toe hold applied. Paine now working a seperate part of the body. Quick rolls to his belly......back kick and rolls out. Quick off the ropes....leap frog by Paine.....Quick from the far side.....clothesline by Paine....countered by Quick into a crucifixion pin attempt........SAMOAN SLAM!!!!

M: There's da PAINE!

K: Martin Paine countered the counter into a Samoan Slam. Now Paine needs to follow up here. Paine right behind Quick into a choke sleep. He is going to attempt to put Quick into a submission and make him tap out. The crowd trying to get behind Quickenbosh.....kick to the head by Shane. And another, the hold is broken. Quick rolls forward and up to his feet. Quick off the ropes and Paine with a clothesline....Quick a slide between the legs. Quick from behind...........sommersault dropkick and down goes Paine!!!!!!!!!!

M: Man is he quick!

K: Paine back up and turns............PALM STRIKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Paine tumbles over the top and to the floor. Quickenbosh..............TOPE CON HILO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And he lands on his feet.....incredible maneuver. Both men up and Quick springs to the apron and a backelbow connects with Paine. Quick tosses Paine back into the ring. Quick from the top...........cannonball senton!! He makes the cover............

M: Both men trying to get up.

K: Both to a vertical base. Forearm by Paine and Quick retaliates. Paine with another and Quick delivers one of his own. Its a strike fest now. Paine forearm, forearm, forearm. Quick returns...forearm, forearm, forearm. Paine with a swinging right.....Quick ducks...greco roman knuckle.....springs to the top rope.....walks across the top........TOREADOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! M: Paine rolls back to his feet and slumps in the corner.

K: Not quite. Quickenbosh escapes. Back and forth. Back and forth. Both men have given it their all here. Quick is up and so is Paine......Quick with the superkick........CAUGHT!!!!

M: Thats hasnt worked all night.

K: Paine with the dragon screw leg whip............ULTIMATE PAINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ULTIMATE PAINE!!!!!!!!!!

M: Thats it. It has to be.

K: Martin Paine's version of the jujiotame!!!! Paine has it locked in, center of the ring.

M: Big upset here!!! Quick will have to tap.

K: Shane Quickenbosh trying to find a counter. Trying to withstand the Paine, no pun intended. Quick gets up to his feet and Paine has it clamped on.

M: No escape, Olberman. We all know that. Paine would have to let go. And he aint gonna do that.

K: Shane using the leverage and pulling Paine's leg towards his chest. Quick falls over down on his knees into a pin attempt..........

K: WHAT?! Quick tapped out. NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Esher awards the match to Quickenbosh via pinfall!!!!

M: WHAT?! NO WAY!!!

K: Shane Quickenbosh emerges victorious here tonight!!! You were right Mean Mike. The only way out was for Paine to let go and he never did, thus Quick used his leverage and pinned Paine. Paine is a bit upset. He really thought he could get Quickenbosh to tap out to his Ultimate Paine.

M: WOW!!! Simply incredible, Olberman.

K: Give it up for both men. Quick extends the hand and he and Paine shake. Great sportsmanship and great action!!!! YLC has proved to be the standard barrer in Junior Heavyweight Action!!! These are the best Junior Heavyweights on this planet!

M: And its not over.

K: No its not. We still have night one to conclude and then next week David Black and Larry Legend will join you for night 2 and we will see you in two weeks time, where we pickup the second round and night 3 of the 2005 YLC Tournament.

M: Larry Legend...that dude is cool. I like him.

K: You would, wouldn't you?

M: You are so damn jealous. I would never leave you for him. Dont worry.....HONEY!

K: Thats not what I mean, sweetheart.

M: Ok.....now its weird.

K: Lets goto the ring.

SB: Ladies and gentlemen, tonight's final contest is scheduled for one fall and has a 20 minute time limit. Introducing first, from Toronto Canada. He stands 6'4" and weighs 220lbs........................SHANE O'RILEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

<Shane walks down to the Ring with a Canadian Flag the Fans Boo as he continues to walk he eventually gets in the Ring and waves the Flag and waits for his oppenent.>

K: These fans are not a fan of Shane O'Riley.

M: Dumb Canadians!

K: We're in America and O'Riley is Canadian.

M: O'Riley is Irish.

SB: And his opponent. From Fort Knox, Tennessee. He stands 6'0" and weighs 220lbs..................."THE MONEY MAN" WILL DINERO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

<"Silver and Cold" by AFI starts and the lights go down low. A trail of green dollar bill signs lead from the entrance way tothe ring. Two pyros blast gold confetti in the air and "The Money Man" jogs out with a smile on his face. He slowly walks all the way to the ring, hops on the turnbuckle tightrope walks top the middle of the toprope, turns towards crowd and does a tucked backflip to the middle of the ring. He stands there with his right arm raised, still smiling.>

K: Its The Money Man!!

M: Listen to this crowd, Olberman. They love The Money Man!

K: A nice ovation for Will Dinero. Senior Valor official, Noel Gevers calls for the bell and this match is underway. Will Dinero extends his hand and O'Riley is gonna sha.........NO!!! O'Riley smugly combs his hair instead.

M: Money Man is not gonna be happy.

K: Now Oriley rolls to the floor. He goes over to the time keeper's table and he has that JWA belt. He rolls into the ring and he is sticking that belt right in Dinero's face.

M: Dinero is turning all kinds of shades of red. He's fuming.

K: Oriley turns to gloat and Dinero grabs the belt out of his hand. Oriley is pissed now and Dinero tosses the belt out into the crowd!

M: Oriley is shocked. Oriley has gone out to the floor and he wants security to retrieve that belt!

K: Oriley trying to get secuirty's attention.

M: Yeah...they look really responsive too.

K: Dinero follows Oriley out and he swings Oriley around...forearms to face. Oriley gets tossed intot he ring at the hands of Will Dinero. Dinero climbs to the top rope. Oriley turns.........top rope clothesline!!! Dinero signaling for The Stock Market Drop.

M: Already?

K: Dinero grabs Oriley. He signals to the fans. Oriley with the counter......DDT by Oriley! Oriley now grabs Dinero.....snap suplex. Oriley off the ropes and drives a knee to the head. He tries a cover.......

K: Must have caught Dinero really off guard with that ddt. Oriley with Dinero now setup for a German......Dinero finds the counter into a standing switch. Dinero with the over head release German and Oriley lands on his feet!!!!!!!!!

K: Dinero is up and turns..........dropkick. Oriley now off the ropes.....spring board moonsault on Dinero. No cover by Oriley. Oriley instead is climbing to the top rope.

M: Dinero is up.

K: Dinero catches Oriley...presses him off the top....Oriley rolls through. Back upa nd charges Dinero.....Dinero with the arm drag. Both men up.....Dinero charges and a Japanese arm drag by Oriley. Both men back up. and Oriley charges......Dinero leap frogs....turns and grabs Oriley. Dinero with Oriley.....standing switch by Oriley.........GERMAN SUPLEX!!!!
